Share a gDrive Folder

Note: You can share your gDrive with a non-google email securely IF that user has a google “account” See Instructions: https://www.marypainterdoss.com/uncategorized/create-a-google-account-with-your-business-email/

Login to Gmail
Click on the block of dots next to your profile picture in the top right
Then click gDrive
Under “My Drive” choose the folder you want to share, or create one.
Right click on the folder and click share

Enter the email address of the gmail user OR business email if they have a google account
Choose how much access they have Editor (full access), Commenter (limited access), Viewer (they can only view the files)
Add a message if you desire
Click Send

Anything you put into that folder (or the folders below) that person will have access to if they login into their google account and click gDrive and “shared with me”

Create a Google Account with your Business Email

Goto google.com/accounts/NewAccount
Enter your name
Click “Use my current email address instead” – input your business email
Enter a new password (twice)
Next

Check your business email – copy the verification code
Enter the code in the box where it says “enter code”

Enter your phone, dob & gender
Next

Verify your phone
Next

Connect your phone number or skip
Skip

Agree to the privacy terms

Click on box of dots next to your profile pick and click Drive

New Google Analytics to WordPress

October 2020 Google updated Analytics to version 4. AND Of course they have moved things!!! Ugh
Login to your Gmail and then go to Google.com/analytics

  1. Sign in to your Analytics account.
  2. Click Admin.
  3. Select an account from the menu in the ACCOUNT column.
  4. Select a property from the menu in the PROPERTY column.
  5. Choose Data Stream Webpage
  6. Tagging Instructions Choose Globle Tag and Copy
  7. Go to your WordPress –> Plugins –> new search for insert header footer (by ) Install & Activate
  8. Go to Settings –> Insert Headers and Footers –> Scripts for Footer & paste the code from Google Analytics

    BUT a bunch of things are missing!!!!!! To force analytics to use version 3….
    1. Click Add Property
    2. Enter Property Name
    3. Enter Time Zone
    4. SELETCT CREATE A UNIVERSAL ANALYTICS PROPERTY
    5. Enter URL
    6. CHOOSE CREATE A UNIVERSAL ANALYTICS PROPERTY ONLY!!!!!
    Now your Audience & Acquisition & Behavior Folders are all back!! Yea!

Facebook Upload Customer List for Audience

Before you begin

Prepare your customer list in advance

To make a Custom Audience from a customer list, you provide us with information about your existing customers and we match this information with Facebook profiles. The information on a customer list is known as an “identifier” (such as email, phone number, address) and we use it to help you find the audiences you want your ads to reach.

Your customer list can either be a CSV or TXT file that includes these identifiers. To get the best match rates, use as many identifiers as possible while following our formatting guidelines. You can hover over the identifiers to display the formatting rules and the correct column header. For example, first name would appear as fn as a column header in your list.

Alternatively, we have a file template you can download to help our system map to your identifiers more easily. (You can upload from Mailchimp as well.)

Next steps

  1. Add your customer list: You can create your Custom Audience in Ads Manager. Once in your account, go directly to Audiences, then go to Create Audience > Custom Audience > Customer list
  2. Prepare your customer list: Select the identifiers to include, then add the customer list you want to use for your new Custom Audience and give it a name.
  3. Review your customer list: Confirm that you mapped your identifiers correctly or check to see that all errors are resolved. You’ll get one of the following notifications:
    • The green checkmark symbol means your identifiers were mapped correctly and are ready to be hashed, then used for the matching process.
    • The yellow exclamation symbol  means either that you chose not to include certain identifiers or that some identifiers need to be manually updated. You have higher chances of getting a better match rate to build your audience if you make the corrections before uploading your file.
  4. Upload your customer list: Once your list has been added and is ready for use, select Upload and Create.

Moving an Old Contact Database to MailChimp or ConstantContacts?

Uploading your contacts from your computer or company database can be problematic. Depending on how long you have been adding contacts to your database there is a good chance a high percentage of your emails are no long valid. This will cause a high bounce rate and could get your suspended from the bulk email giants.

It’s a good idea to have a 3rd party clean your list before uploading it for use. The company I choose, with great reviews, was Voilanorbert.com Their pricing was very reasonable and found that 35% of my list had invalid email addresses 39% were risky and only 25% were clean, usable email addresses. Mind you, this list went back over 15 years. For checking ~1400 email addresses the cost was $4. Very reasonable. I could have paid an additional $50 and they would have filled in my list with missing names, titles, companies, addresses & phone number.

Create a Movie from Your Photos

Windows Movie Maker is no longer available, what do you do when you want to make a quick movie?

Log into your google account and goto Photos icon in the pull-down menu top right.
Goto Albums & Create an Album|
Back on Google Photos Main Page, Select Assistant from the Menu on the left.
Click the +Create at the top & Select Animation
You can then download the animated.gif
(Cons – can’t set the time between frames)

The movie option only creates template stories.

YouTube “Brand” Accounts are a Must

Reason: Others can manager your account for your without giving them the keys to the kingdom….your main password for google.

Create a Brand Account

Goto http://youtube.com/account
Click “see all my channels or create a new channel”
Click “create a new channel”
Enter a name –> Create
May send text verification
Customize with Profile pic & Cover


To MOVE your old channel to the new brand account:

GoTo http://youtube.com/account
Click “see all my channels or create a new channel”
Select your original personal channel ***Important
Scroll to “settings” on you the left or enter the account url again from above
Click “Advanced Settings”
Click “Move channel to Brand Account”
May ask you for your pw
You should see your personal account at the top under My Channel (Now) with an arrow pointing to the new Brand Account
Click the Brand Account (This should be an empty account that you just created above so none of your video should be deleted. As I said earlier…make sure the old personal account was showing at the top and the new Brand account is at the bottom. If it is switched you will be deleting all of your content from your personal channel)
Click Delete Channel

My question is why don’t they make this easier for us with one button “Change your personal channel to a brand account”?

Save Live FB video for Client

Download your Videos from Facebook

Right Click – Copy video URL
Paste in browser – change to www to mbasic and enter
Right Click again Open Video in New Tab
Right Click again Save Video As
Name & save to your computer

Now you can upload to youtube or embed in your clients website.

If that does not work…
Copy URL of video
Paste in new tab & replace www or web with mbasic
Click on the video & it will open in another new tab
Now you can right click and save the video

Godaddy Website Hosted Form and Workspace

If you currently host your website on your Godaddy server and then move your mail to their Workspace, you will need to change a few things.

Your MX records will need to be updated to:
MX @ mailstore1.secureserver.net (Priority: 10)
MX @ smtp.secureserver.ent (Priority: 0)
TXT @ v=spf1 a mx ptr include:secureserver.net ~all

And don’t forget updating your cPanel if you are sending mail to those email address from a form on your website:
cPanel -> Email -> MX Entry -> choose Domain -> Email Routing -> Remote Mail Exchanger
